What to Expect

What to Expect

If you are visiting our site and contemplating whether you want to visit our church, we hope the answers to the following questions will help you in your decision-making.

What should I expect?
Harmony exudes a welcoming, family atmosphere where you will find people dressed in a variety of ways from casual jeans and tee shirts to dresses or sports coats. We invite you to dress in the way you feel most comfortable.

Sunday morning service:
Our Worship Service begins at 10:00 a.m. Every service starts with music led by Harmony‚Äôs Worship team. We believe music is such an important part in helping prepare our hearts to come into His presence and truly hear what God has to tells us each Sunday. The music is a blend of contemporary worship songs sprinkled with traditional hymns.

What translation of the Bible is used?
The New International Version is used for preaching and teaching.

Will I be asked to give money?
Although a collection is taken during the service, we do not expect guests to contribute to the needs of our church and no one is required to give at any time.

Sunday Classes for Adults:

Before the worship service Sunday School classes beginning at 9:00 a.m. are offered for adults. Most classes are held in the education wing of the building.

It is a big building with many entrances. Where do I go?
Upon arrival, you will pull into a large parking lot. We invite you to park in our visitor parking spots along the side of the building. Our main entrance is a set of double glass doors that open from the sidewalk leading to the building from the parking lot. Once inside you will be welcomed by a friendly face and directed to your class or to the service. The sanctuary, nursery, and restrooms are located off of this main foyer.

What about my children?
During our Worship Service we offer a nursery for children up to age 3 and Junior Church for children ages 3-12.

When you drop off your children in the nursery you will be given a pager so that you can be contacted about any needs your child may have. It also serves as a security device so that you are the only one who can pick up your child.

Older children remain in the sanctuary for the beginning of the service while we sing. At the end of the worship portion of the service, they are invited to attend one of the age-based Junior Church classes.

How do I get to HBC?
The address for Harmony is 1790 Route 211 East, Middletown, NY 10941. It is located 4 miles east of Route 17.

Is the building handicapped accessible?
Yes. Most events take place on the main floor which is handicapped accessible. We have handicapped accessible restrooms located in the education wing, as well as a lift and an elevator to assist people in moving from one level to another in the building.
