Children

Welcome

Our Children’s Ministry is designed to create a loving and safe atmosphere for children ages birth to sixth grade. Our primary goal is to introduce youngsters to a life-changing relationship with Christ. We want families to know that their children will be cared for by adults who love them and want what is best for them. With this foundation in their lives, we believe that they will have the strength and support to face all of life’s many challenges as they grow. Other goals for our ministry include teaching them moral values, christian character, and from that, a willingness to serve others. With this in mind, our programs are designed to bless and strengthen families in our community by serving their children.

In order to maintain a safe and loving environment, parents are encouraged to participate with their children and observe our programs as often as they like. A mandatory criminal background check is necessary in order to participate as a program volunteer which helps to insure the safety of our participants

Here's a short highlight video of the fun and rewarding year we had at Awana in 2015!

What is Awana?

Awana helps churches and parents raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. Awana is the only organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship programs for ages 2 to 18. Awana provides weekly programs and special events that introduce children to Jesus Christ and build a biblical foundation for faith.

Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.

Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it's the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their "Cubbies friends," they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes. Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so she will respect and trust Him for life.

Sparks® ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.
Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®, WingRunner® and SkyStormer™. Each year, Sparks clubbers:
• explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
• memorize Bible verses
• complete handbook activities
The handbooks, combined with Large Group Time lessons from the WHO Do I Need to Know From the Bible series, take your child on a journey through the entire Bible!

T&T engages third- through fifth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace. Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child's knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.

Child Protection Policy

The safety and welfare of children is important to us. To help ensure that the children and youth who attend our church are ministered to in a safe and loving environment, we have a Child Protection Program. All adults who work with minors will be required to go through a screening process prior to working with children or youth. The screening process includes an application, references, personal interview, and background check. Children's and youth workers will also be asked to follow some fundamental procedures to maintain the safety of our children and youth during all ministry events. For more information please download our Child Protection Policy below.

Junior Church

Junior Church ministers to children ages 3-12 during the morning worship service. We have separate classes for these age groups: 3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-12 years. We teach children the Word of God in a fun setting using puppets, stories, games, and crafts to help them have a deeper relationship with Christ.

Our Junior Church is busting at its seams and we are in need of helpers. Please consider helping, even if just once every couple of months, it would be valuable. Questions? Contact the church office with the form to the left.

Nursery

During our Morning Service, we have a staffed nursery with a pager system available for children under 3. If you need a quiet place to feed your infant or to quiet your child, a cry room is available off the front foyer.

Our nursery staff is currently in need of volunteers. If you have a child or grandchild using the nursery, please consider helping. Even just once every few months would be greatly appreciated. Contact our Nursery Director using the form to the left.
